What do you know about Community Property laws?

True or False? All the property of a husband and wife is automatically Community Property.
True or False? If a spouse dies without a will, the surviving spouse gets all the Community Property.
True or False? Community Property laws don't apply to domestic partnerships.

Do you really know all you need to know about Community Property laws? Come to a free workshop on Tuesday, July 27th 6:30-8PM in Jefferson Square and find out from West Seattle Attorney, Sharon E. Best.

The workshop is offered as a free community service as part of the Savvy Seattle Women series.

Coloring Contest Winner

Here is one of the four winners from Prudential's SummerFest coloring contest. We've decided to make this an annual event, so keep your crayons sharpened!
This entry was drawn by Amelia L. of West Seattle. She won a $25 gift certificate to Curious Kids Stuff.

Current mortgage loan rates

Interest rates on 30-year fixed rate loans continue to circle the drain (in a good way). Applicants with a good credit rating and steady employment may well qualify for rates as low as 4.5%.

Here's what loan officer, Troy Chambers, Arboretum Mortgage has to say:

Rates are steady!!
We are extremely close to going even lower with these interest rates, and a small rally next week could push us squarely to the mid 4s! Rates look fantastic right now, and it is a very good time to either look at a refinance, or a new home purchase. Either way, I can help, so please feel free to contact my cell phone at any time at 425-418-5103. I will be available all through the weekend as well.
