$8000 tax credit for first-time home buyers!

The $790 billion stimulus package hammered out by Congress late this week increases the first-time home buyer tax credit to $8,000, from $7,500. Even better, buyers who hold on to their property for at least three years will no longer be required to repay the credit!

What do you think? Will this provision encourage more home buyers to jump in the market? I'd love to hear your comments.
