Open House Blitz! This Weekend

The Washington State Assn. of Realtors is sponsoring an Open House blitz this weekend, so don't be surprised if you see Open House sign boards on every street corner. From 11-4 Sunday, I will be holding open my listing at 2626 Marine Av SW, on the block between Pepperdock's and Whale Tail Park. It's an adorable Spanish-style, one-level duplex. The two units together are listed for $487,500. MLS# 29082990 My Prudential colleague, Mary Lou Santee, will be holding the same listing open on Saturday from 1-4.

Have we bottomed out?

Don't look now, but there is abundant evidence that Seattle has already seen the bottom of the real estate market. So if you've been waiting for prices to drop more, you may have waited too long. More and more homes -- when they are priced fairly -- are selling within the first 2 weeks on the market, and many of them are even receiving multiple offers again.

Happily, interest rates are still low (though not as low as a month ago) and there is stil about a 4 month supply of homes. So although we are still in a buyer's market, this too shall pass. If you've been on the fence about buying a home, it's time to reassess.
