Now easier to subscribe

Regular visitors to this site have probably already noticed that I added a gadget to the right-hand column which makes it easier to subscribe to this blog. I confess that I am still learning about RSS feeds and the like, but I encourage you to go ahead and try it out. It's free, of course, and you can always delete the feed if you decide you don't like it. I recently discovered that if you subscribe to a feed through a mail program such as Outlook, the new postings will be delivered directly to your e-mail rather than having to access it through your browser.

Hurry for downpayment assistance

Just a reminder that time is running out to qualify for downpayment assistance through some programs such as Nehemiah and Ameridream. Recently-passed federal legislation nixes such funding after Oct. 1st, 2008. Closing the sale on a house typically takes 30 days, so there MAY still be enough time to take advantage of this assistance.
