Only 27 days left till tax credit runs out!

Only 27 days left to take advantage of one of two tax credits offered to qualified homebuyers. The first credit, $8,000, is available to first-time homebuyers. The second, $6,500, is available to current homeowners purchasing a new home. Buyers must been under contract with sellers by April 30th to qualify for the credit. Up a Bit …

As of yesterday the government stopped buying “mortgage backed securities”. This has resulted in rates rising slightly, over the past 2 weeks as each lender prepared their pipeline for this change in policy. Surprisingly rates have not risen drastically, and there are still some very attractive rate possibilities available.  Now is the time to lock in on a purchase transaction, or to finally get around to that refinance that has been put on the back burner.
